Pride nurtured with long-term dedication While Korean laver has been recognized as a regional standard by the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CODEX) and has become a global standard, most farmed laver in Korea has relied on imported seeds due to domestic conditions. To uphold the pride of Korea as the birthplace of laver, Pulmuone dedicated 8 years out of a total of 14 years of research to developing native laver seeds. Subsequently, for 6 years, they visited most of the fishing villages from the South to the West Coast to find the optimal sites for cultivating laver. After numerous cultivation and testing trials, 'Noeulhaesim,' Korea's first new variety of marine algae, was born.
